I've run MXs, the Avon 500s, and Hankook RS2 on my 98 AWD. The MXs and Avons have really soft sidewalls, so their steering precision and accuracy suffers considerably. The Avons are much better street rain tyres than the other two, but the Hankook wins hands-down for steering and dry grip.

RT615s have more dry grip than the Hankooks, but less wet grip. Steering accuracy seems the same. The Hankooks are substantially cheaper than the Azenis except when the Azenis are on special, which they just so happen to be right now.

I've seen the Azenis on sale in 225/45/17 for 112 at edgeracing.com in the last week

edit, missed t9s1i's post... let us know how the G sports are in terms of noise and comfort, as well as all out performance. I tend to keep my tires until I wear em slap out and I do a lot of highway / street driving.

I love my Cooper Zeon Tires, I have yet to do anything to them Thats made them squeek or chirp or anything and i'v been drivin the hell out of my car since i got it workin good again, they last pretty good too, with my driving they last me about a year and a half

The MX's are a great tire and hold up to the heat well. I'm on my third year on them and they still look great (not driven in winter obviously). They a great performing tire at 150-160 bucks,,, at $97 bucks for 18's (tirerack.com) right now there the best bet and a hell of a deal IMO.

I second that. ^^^
I'm going to try to scrape up enough cash to buy another set while they are on sale. I wont need them until next year, but I cannot pass up this offer.

kinda curious what you guys thought of this tire. I thought it looked good considering i get no traction ever and im kinda on a budget. I need a tire with close to a 300 treadwear and under 125 a peice.

The V710?

I have the Toyo Proxes 4's and like them :)

V710 will be gone in 1000 miles if you drive them on the street. I have a set for autox and they freakin rock!! If you want a short track tire the V710 is hard to beat. They tend to overheat on road courese because they're a low temp tire designed more for autox than anything.
You probably can't go wrong with the BFG's, I have the KDW's on for street use and they do everything well.

Kumho MX tires are very good tires. They are sticky and have a stiff sidewall. Their rain performance is on the low side, but just be careful and all will be fine if you decide to go with them. They would prabably last right about 10-20k. Depending on your driving style.
They also look cool. I would recommand them to anyone.

What are everyones thoughts on Dunlop SP9000 tires? Many friends of mine have used them in their cars and they say they are really good, and they are the tires that came on my GSX when I bought it...

I like how they handle, but since I haven't driven my GSX with other tires, I don't have to much ground to compare too...it would be nice to hear some feeback.

A Kumho MX will out-turn a g-Force (when autocrossing) in the dry and an SPT will put both to shame if it's raining. Don't know about wear on the SPTs yet. My only real complaint is they scream like a street tire when pushed, probably because they are a street tire (which I'm not used to). ;)

how come no one has mentioned anything like the mich ps2's or the eagle f1's? is it just that most dsm'ers aren't going to pay north of 180 per tire for tires, or is it that they aren't good for our drivetrain configuration or something? (awd that is)

I had 235/40/18 Eagle F1 GS-D3 on the talon for awhile. Great tires and in the wet they were pretty much the same as the dry. I loved them. I'm sure some other tires would be a little better at handling but they were great. Had awesome treadwear as well.

Still not sure what to get though for the talon now. Planning on 17x9 with 255/40/17 tires but not sure which tires to get. For my Mazdaspeed 6 I'm going to get the RE-01R's. Though those are not made yet in the size I'm looking for the talon.

I rocked the Dunlop SP Sport 8090's that came factory on the rx-8. I had a friend that worked in an insurance salvage yard and he hooked me up with a complete tire/rim combo for $800. I find them to totally blow ass, there is absolutley no traction whatsoever. When I had a n/a 2.0 I could rev it up and dump the clutch at 50kmh and bust them loose.

ps. anybody wanna buy some SP Sport 8090's? there in real decent shape.;)
