High Oil Pressure-Consequences?

The Facts:
Pressure readings are from Autometer analog gauge with copper tubing fitted to Oil filter housing, replacing electric gauge. Oil used is Mobil 1 synth 10w-30 (also used 5w-30 with similar pressure)

Cold Start Pressures:
1000 RPM - 60psi
2500 RPM - 80psi
3500 RPM - 100psi

Operating Temp. Pressures:
1000 RPM - 15psi
3000 RPM - 60psi
4500 RPM - 80psi
5500 RPM - 100psi
Redline - OFF THE CHARTS SQUIRTING OUT OF MY GAUGE

The Question:
I'd really like to bring down my oil pressure, as it is causing excessive leaking from the oil filter housing in particular. From my understanding my only options are 1. Porting the relieve valve hole. 2. Clipping the relief spring.

The Problem:
I'm concerned that the lowside of my readings such as 15psi will drop to a dangerously low level if I port the hole/clip the spring. Is this true? Is there one option that is clearly a better choice than the other? My ideal situation is to be at about 90 psi at redline-is that a good goal?

You will be fine if you port the hole. The low rpm pressure won't drop because the pressure relief valve will still open at the same pressure, which will keep the pressure up. The problem is volume at high rpm's, and the volume is too high to go thru the small hole. If you shortened the spring than you would have lower pressure at all rpm's.
