high idle?, over heating?

my 2g has a high idle to it it runs any where from 1500 to 2000rpms any ideas

car is over heating do not no why

Any more information would help.

There could be a lot of things making your car overheat. Headgasket, radiator, fan etc..

fan works umm only starts over heating 20 mins after car is started and driving.
not low on antifreeze

hole in the catylic converter if that matters ffor the high idling

Have you checked for boost leaks? I recently changed my injectors and my idle was high as well. It turns out that two fo the lower injector seals split in half. I was totally dumbfounded. Also run the check in your IAC.
