alright everyone i know you have all heard this before but im new to the site and new to my 1991 plymoth laser. 2.0 n/a. fwd. ive been having some high idleing issues with it. as of last week i found out the intake gasket and throttle body gasket was bad. so i went and replaced them, while doing so i put on a bjs cylinder head aftermarket intake on it. (the entire intake plentum with the stock intake plumping and air box). i ran all the vaccum lines accordingly and i blocked off were the egr vaccume line was attached. and im still having the same problem. i have what i believe is call the air bypass valve screw located on the throttle body turned almost all the was in if not closed complety. i have about 1/8-1/4 play on the throttle cable when idleing. at the moment i have a sensor on the throttle body a one wire and when the throttle is closed it revs very quickly from 900-1300 rpms repetitivly untile i hit the throttle then it will hold 2300-2600 for about 3 seconds. when i disconnect the single green wire connection it will hold 2400ish rpms. i just adjusted the little throttle body green wire sensor today so it would be a little quieter. other then that the little switch was not touching the butterfly on the throttle body. causing it to rev high. and stay up. (very annoying in rush hour traffic!!)
Thanks Colt.
