high flow cat is too big to fit under car

Well just got the call from the exhaust people saying that the high flow cat that they have there that they are trying to put onis too big. The inlet and outlet are fine 3 inches. The diameter of the barrel on the cat is too big to fit on the car. Does anyone know of or have a small barrel high flow 3 inch cat that they wanna sell? This is extremely important i have to get through inspection . The guys were trying to say, Well if you put a smaller exhaust on there i can put a regular cat converter on it for you. I was like ummm i dont think so. Lol. So yea, if anyone could help out it would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

P.S. Good news is they are fixing the massive hole in my down pipe, and i was leaking exhaust on every flange to the back of the car. They are all fixed =]

i would have them make you a test pipe... other than that i have seen some pretty small hi flow cats on ebay

I fooled the inspection stations with just a 3" resonator and told them it was a hi-flow cat. those are usually a lot smaller then a conventional cat.

you could always take out your cat and get a pipe or so and smash out the guts in the cat.
Im in florida we have no emissions or inspections its nice.

I have a 3" cat on my car. I'm not sure who made it, but it's a really tight fit.

Do you have to pass a sniffer, or just a visual? There are many smaller ones, but they won't all pass the sniff test on these cars.

Yea, it has to pass emissions and visual .

take the heat shield off the cat and reweld it around your test pipe and then do the CEL fix with the O2 sensor....emissions and visual = passed

Here in Delaware they actually put a device in the exhaust to measure certain value's. If they are too high or too low, you fail.

take a look at flowmonster cats on ebay. cheap, legal and 3".

Eastern catalytic converters makes a small barrel cat. There the same cats we use for all or exhaust systems at the shop. There a high flow 200 cell cat.

Tell the exaust shop to order an oval shaped high flow cat there trying to use the round one for a truck. If they cant find one call RRE 150 there an there great.
