 ok first ill give the run down on my car bc most of will ask for all the info.......
i have a 98 rs-t i built the whole thing inside out. je dished pishons bored out 30 over.. comp. is 8.8 to 1, rods, the works, now the head i ported and polished and cut 1mm oversized valves.... all yes a lil pointless but ya know why not. now the fuel i will add the problems im about to list were existing prior the fuel upgrades.... but i have a 255 fp and a 12-1 rr fmu. stock injectors only because im in process of doing a portfueler. ok now here is the problems the car ran beautiful when i got done with everything (prior the fuel upgrade), then randomly the car wouldnt idle, WOT it would hesitate as if i wasnt even giving it gas, then it would finally rev then die, now it wont idle at all and sounds like it has a bad miss. first i thought it was my TPS changed it with 3 all did nothing, timing is perfect brand new plugs and wires replaced 3 times, not ecu i had a spare and tried it also i have 2 codes map and air temp. air temp sensor is ###### bad but that wont cause that big of a prob. the map sensor code i assumed bc i lost my missing link. but i pulled off the ic piping and the code came back with no boost. i also have not finished my downpipe so my o2 sensor is missing. and the new prob is when i get it running and adjust the biss screw to keep it going when i rev it up at WOT it redlines at 4k. my question to all DSMers is will a bad map and missing o2 cause the car die at idle, sputter a lil higher rpm above idle, redline at 4k, and just make the motor run very shatty? :notgood: all ideas and crap talking is welcomed.... lemme have it

it doesnt have that much of a rich scent, but my downpipe is only a a foot long so i assumed it was bc of a short exhaust but i am going to the dsm junkyard and ill pick up a map and iat and o2 and try it....... i hope your right.

yep o2 sensor did it. replaced the map sensor, and iat sensor with new pigtail, now it purrs like a kitten well a big kitten..... spools up quick and redlines normal....... thanks bro.... i love this forum... oh one more thing i have 2 new cel codes p0700 and p1768 they are both a/t codes but i did the manual swap still have the a/t ecu the m/t ecu i have has a lil different plugs just the little ears that guide the pug on, they are spread out a lil more but any ideas on how to take care of those cel codes.

You have a manual engine control unit, but you haven't swapped your auto ecu out for the new manual ecu -correct?

Did you leave the A/T transmission control module in place, all plugged in? If you swap the manual ecu into the car you can remove the A/T trans tcm. I'm pretty sure that will eliminate any trans CELs. I'm not sure but you may be able to just disconnect the TCM to eliminate the CELs. I'm also not too sure what you'll get if you leave the auto ecu in place and try to patch or fool the ecu into thinking it still has an auto tranny with the auto tcm also in place.

I'm not very familiar with the auto trans, or it's tcm. Do you know exactly what the CELs you are getting from the ecu are referring to?
