I have a 95 eagle talon i just got about a month ago, when i looked at it i knew it was a project but damn the guy i got it from jack this thing up.

my problem is when i got the car it would grind really bad then sometimes not engauge the ring gear at all (most of the time). I took the trans out to see what was going on found it had the wrong torque converter in there, ok no big deal got another torque converter and started to install everything..... damn torque ocnverter dont line up to the flex plate...? what the HELL:banghead::banghead::banghead::ohdamn:

i dont know if this is true with the TC but i know that the 6 bolt and 7 bolts have 2 dif flywheels is this a 4g63t? or a 420a need to be more specific

If its a 4g63 the 2g i believe have a 7bolt engine so are you sure you bought a 7 bolt TC?

i believe it is the 4g63 the torque converter is for a 7 bolt i am starting to believe i had a jdm trans in there

Did he do an engine swap? If so it maybe that engine came from a manual car and thus the flex plate is for a 5spd trans.

yes he did do an engine swap but he said it was the same kind of car (everything the same) but who knows. anyone know where i can get a flex plate for an auto and how much it would run talons or eclipse's with autos are all most non existant around here:cry::cry:

i've had this trans out 6 times now i just want it to be back in and run

If the engine is a 6 bolt than you will need a special flex plate to get it to work right. Any 7 bolt will work fine as long as you have the 2g flex plate.

any ideal where i can get one for this car around st louis? i remember him saying something about the cas being on the driver side and had to rewire it to the other side make since?

Before anything i would verify which engine you are working with. Look at the oil pan below the oil pump. If it is flat across below the crank pulley than it is a 6 bolt, it is curved than it is a 7 bolt. If the engine in there is a 6 bolt than you are likely not going to find anything locally, there are only one or 2 company's that actually make the flexplate. It is 375 dollars.
