help wont start after swap

ok im posting this up for my friend since his internet went out.ok so his motor turn a crap
so we went ahead and swap it out for a jdm motor .
the head was resurcead with new valve stems and 3mm lash adjusters
put a nead gasket of course.Went ahead and took out the a/c and replaced the cas sensor.

ok now after all that we get the car ready to start check to see that we have fuel ans spark
it take a few but we get it to crank over and its running but with a huge leak. we track it down and it coming for the biss screw. i put my fingure over it to make thats where its comming for and then the car just stops and we cant get it to start up again.
when we were first done there was a grounding issue but i think we fixed that since it started the one time after we fixed that

Cas may be 180* out, I would switch it out and see if it starts.

What year car?
and what did the two different cas's look like?

its a 97 gst
and we just changed out the sensor
and its one of the metal cas housing on the passenger side of the car
i dont know if this helps

There is a dimple on one side of the CAS that touches the cam, try flipping it 180*.
A timing light wont be able to tell you if its the right way because it fires every 180* on a dsm =)
That will make your fuel spray when it should. Its funny I did that on my car a while back and it wouldn't run for crap, fliped it and perfect.

Did you swap in a 6 bolt or stay with the 7? Also have you checked the coil? It may be bad..if you smell gas coming out of your exhaust that's would be a bad coil

ya we tried a diff coil pack still didnt do anything and i know the coil pack we tied was good because its the one off my running car

and he stayed with a 7 bolt

ok we checked the cas and we made sure it was right
im going to have him do a comprasion test to see maybe he got a bad motor
but anybody else have any ideas
