Help with Tranny...

Okay I was driving normal not running the car hard at all.

I went to shift the car into 3rd (sycro is out so it grinds) and let off the clutch and give it some gas and guess what. nothing. I thought it was in nuetral tried it agian, Yet agian nothing.

I can sit at a stop with out pressing the clutch pedal and it will go from any gear with out grinding. This makes me think that the Clutch went. have any of you guys had this problem?

I might buy a 91 tsi awd with 65 k with solid motor mounts cams aem cam gears. Fidanza Flywheel, ACT clutch. 3 inch back exhaust. for 2500 bucks. The body is great other than one silver dollar size rust hole behind the door.

I forgot to add that a good friend of mine is a great mechanic and he seems to think the clutch is gone. He told me that if the tranny broke that some noise would be coming from it.

So it only does that in 3rd gear or the higher gears as well? It does sound like the clutch.

YUP Clutch was smoked!

got me a new oem until I get all the upgrades and put them all in at once.

sounds like a broken 3/4 shift fork to me.

It was the clutch I chaged it yesterday.
