edmonton,
I was tinkering with my car and was taking the 2 little bolts off that hold the throttle cable to the top of the intakemanifold, i noticed there was abit of slack in the trottle cable and wanted to tighten it up, I moved it and it resulted in bad results,

and now if I move the bolts back exactly where they were my car misses and sputters abit, so Im forced to have it slightly tighter then before. now when I rev me car the idle usually goes back to 900 rpm but sometimes will stay around 1400, and the rpm needle does a sharp little jump every now and then, it only moves atiny bit when it jumps.I tried the biss also
so if I put it back exactly where it was why wouldnt they idle be the same as it was

I searched and couldnt find anything, directky related to my conditions

just adjusting the throttle cable shouldn't cause your car to sputter. But when you bolt down the cable, you want there to be a hair of slack in it. If it's too tight, it won't fully depress the Idle Position Switch, and cause you to idle at like 2grand or so. Also when you adjusted the BISS, did you just hop in there with a screwdriver and start screwin away? Or did you do it correctly by grounding out the timing plug in the engine bay first? There's a vfaq on it i believe that you can follow. You can't just hop in there and start screwing away at it.

yah I just started screwing with it right away.....

the gas pedal isnt sticking, could to TB be getting stuck and not closing %100.

can you plz tell me if I fully tighten the biss, how many full rotations out would it be to set it at ideal idle speed for my mods, Im thinking 850 ish

16g
intake
turboback exhaust
@ 15 psi on stock fuel support.

Is it best to get an AFC asap, or does it make more sense after injectors/fuel pump?

thx in advance

Is it still idling real high? Just adjust the cable so thatit has a hair of play in it where it attaches to the throttle body. Then do like the vfaq says and readjust your BISS. There is a little wire plug harness looking thingy in your engine bay close to your battery. You need to ground that plug out, then let your car warm up. Make sure your accesories are all turned off. Then adjust the screw until you are idling around 800. Then unhook it all and you should be set.

I found the vfaq site, I read it all and am going to try it tomorrow, In combonation I am still going to clean the TB.

I am soon going to clean my engine with seafoam or something like it, im sure u seen the thread.

after using the combustion cleaner do you think I would have to set my idle again as it is susposed to make the car run and idle much better.

i've done it twice. Once on my gst and once on my talon. Neither time did I have to reset anything. Just made the car idel and run smoother. So you shouldn't have to do it again. And even if you do, it only takes 5 minutes to adjust the idle, and that's including the time you let it sit there and warm up.

If you have a logger you can pull up TPS and check where the ECU thinks your throttle position is. First disconnect the wire and make sure it's at 10% ( 1G right? ) to start. Then reconnect the wire and adjust it so you don't move the TPS during idle, but still get 100% with the pedal to the floor.

Does the gas pedel feel like its sticking or hard to push lightly?

I am having this problem with my 95 GSX. The gas pedal is very hard to push down and very hard to push lightly, just like its sticking. Can you tell me what might be wrong or what needs to be adjusted? Thanks in advance.

Hey thanx man. The color is called "silver vein". I got it trying to be unique, then shortly after was told that it's not all that uncommon, and that Sheppard even has the same color. But oh well, it's still less common then just some flat single color like everyone has. And it was only 50 bux to get it, my UICP and tb elbow done! Anywho how's the problem coming along? You get around to adjusting the BISS?

I removed my TB today and throughly cleaned it, the idle increased after cleaning it. I have the wires to ground out the ignition plug, so I am going to adjust the idle tomorrow and bring it back to 900rpm, after cleaning the TB it went to 1900

1900? sounds like you still got the throttle cable too tight. Either that or your idle switch is backed out of its slot so far, that the little plate isn't contacting it in the idle position.
