Help with parts for Rebuild head

Hey everyone, I just got a screamin deal on a 91 TSI. It was $300 thats right... and it runs fine. I am however going to just build it. I have done rebuilds before but nothing for power. I want to get up in the area of 400-500 hp if possible.

What i want to replace is....

Valve components
Pistons
Rods
Cams
Fuel Kit

I dont know what is going to give me the most power tho. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Head:
Depends if you wanna rev past 7500rpms if you really need to upgrade..

Simple 272/272 cams will be suffice for your goals

No porting or oversize valves necessary


As far as Pistons/Rods go...

You can achieve your goals on the 1g Rod/2g Piston combo... BUT the combo I like better (and what im going with on my 1g)... is the EVO 9 Piston/1g Rods combo

EVO 9 Pistons are forged, lighter, higher compression, overall better than 2g pistons

I would do just a head gasket, arp studs, and cams. Maybe a set of springs and stock valves. That will give you everything you need for your goals. Do a timing belt kit and water pump too.

I want to make sure i can go past my goal someday tho. Im willing to put in a little money to do a good job and keep things from breaking. Then I just need to find someone who knows how to tune in colorado that people trust.
