Help with oil pump sprocket

How do you turn the oil pump sprocket? I'm doing the timing on it but i cant get the oil pump sprocket to turn.

Its locked up. Ill post this just so you dont get anymore people posting the obvious since weve talked on the phone and weve concluded that already

If it's locked up that would constitute a bad BS bearing, right?

He state the balance shaft belt was missing teeth as well as the timing belt. But he stated it would turn over initially when he was in quakertown. Im assuming it locked up momentarily and then seized whenever he was cranking it over and over. Theres a good chance that IF it didnt jump time initially and just killed the motor then you might not have bent valves. BUT thats a big hope and Just being Honest AJ

Funny, but the BS belt only runs the front balancer and it just freewheeling along. the rear balancer runs with the timing belt via the oil pump sprocket, in which I could see missing teeth on the timing belt if the oil pump seized. Why, then would his BS belt also have missing teeth, for that is the one that puzzles me.. unless both belts were super tired and ready to go.

How was his oil level at the time of seizure?

from what I gather through text/phone call he said his dipstick was bent. I never got a pic. And he drained the oil bc somebody told him he probably spun a rod. He said the oil was full and that it didnt appear to have any metal in the oil

Yea i drained the oil. No metal shavings. Apon tearing EVERYTHING off to do the timing belt, i noticed the BS belt and the oil pump sprocket problems. I took off the pan. there were 3 pieces of the rod. Along with TONS AND TONS of big metal pieces. i didnt get anything when i drained the oil because the were all big pieces that wouldnt fit down in. the piston is just laying in there. i need an entire new engine. rush may be helping me with that.

Rush said his turbo engine would fit right down in my NT. Will it line up perfectly? And would it be considered a TSI? Not a bad idea for insurance purposes. They would think its a nt when really its a turbo.

No...and that's a good thing as far as your rates go

It depends on the insurance company, but they'll probably go off of the VIN, especially if you ever file a claim...BUT... If you get someone knowledgable (or anal) they may see a turbo sitting in an NT, and give you a hard time when they write the policy.

As for that turbo motor dropping in, it will...but there are wiring (and a few other) issues to deal with.
