help with idenifing wire

Im trying to install my boost gauge in, and in a thread it says to put my yellow wire for constant power and splice it into with a "WHITE" wire in the ignition?!?! i took my column apart and exposed the wires to the ignition and all i saw was six or so wires and the are all black with colored strips.... one DOES have a white strip... IS THAT the wire i tap into??

You just need a key-on 12v source, which you can find with a voltmeter(you have one of those right...)

ACCESSORY/HEATER BLOWER Wire is:---------BLUE/BLACK (+) (BLUE with a black stripe)



IGNITION Wire is: --------BLACK/WHITE (+) (BLACK with a WHITE stripe)

These wires will be fat 10 or 12 Gauge wires

ok which one is the ACC wire??
Blue and red strip??

My wiring diagram says it is just a Blue wire. It will be powered when in ACC and Run.

ok i so didnt really notice he told me it was blue w/black stripe.... BUT there is not such wire on my ignition... there is there is a solid blue... and a solid black... guessing the solid black will be the ground!!

goes like this

[4][5][6]

1)Blue
2)Blue/red stripe
3)black/red stripe
4)Black
5)Black/yellow stripe
6)Black/white stripe

ooook... figured it out!
i DIDNT have a volt meter BUT i made one with two wires and a bulb!!
Call me ghetto, i dont care!!

hooked up boost gauge but havent mounted cause i dont have a gauge bezel!!

There are several switched 12v sources in the drivers foot well fusebox.
Position 2 and 8 are unused switched spots connected to the IG2 output of the ignition switch.
