Help with hx50

I was presented with an offer on a hx50 and I'm just not sure weather not not to take it.

It is being sold to me for $500, just got rebuilt and it has a polish comp cover. The problem is the t4 housing, witch means I would have to either buy new manifold or take of the t3 flange and weld a t4 on it. I don't know much about the a/r size. Kinda would prefer if I could change the housing for a t3 to mate up with the manifold I currently have. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

HX50's and 52's do not support T3-flanged turbine housing airflow. If you're looking to put a T3 flange on a HX50, you need a smaller turbo.

would the hx50 be a good drag option ? whats the spool time of the turbo on a 2.0 and 2.3 ? has anyone tried out the hx50 ? is t4 the only turbine option ?

I'm wondering the same thing, i'm looking at the hx40 for my 91 tsi awd automatic. Just by looking at the turbo it's like... that won't fit in there. But it has been done. What kinda things would (we) be looking at to get let's say an hx40 or an hx50, or 52 put onto our cars?

on the holset wedsite it states the airflow 0.75 (kg/s) that is it equivalent to in (lb/s) ?

these things would be sick on a auto car...

you could possibly have a Garrett T3 housing custom machined to fit that turbo. i did this with my hx35 and also with a buddies H1E (the big HX40) except that was to an Fp housing. it would just be a matter of finding a housing that is slightly smaller
