Without getting to far into what my reasoning behind being stuck on Turbonetics, just try to understand that "if" I decide to upgrade turbos this will more than likely be the rout I go simple do to where the money comes from and how much I can spend... So before i start I ask, PLEASES do not turn this thread into a "You should get this" or "these turbos are better because" thread, simply try to help me understand the information I ask for and that if (and I mean if in a very big way) I decide to upgrade this will more than likely be the way I go simple do to the fact that this is what is available from the distributer that I can use ATM...
O.K. I have been doing some looking at new turbos do to the fact that I think my E316G is finally starting to die and I have been looking at upgrading for a while so I may as well get the list togeather... Now I have looked at what is available from the distributer I am (ATM) limited to and the primary source for their turbos are Turbonetics but their descriptions are very vague, and provide no more info other than most of these are "Turbonetics T3/T4 Hybreads"... so using my pen, a piece of paper and the Internet I searched a few other websites and was able to come up with some information that I hope is accurate.... the problem is that if what I found is correct I am not entirely sure what i am looking at.
So.. To start with I have come up with this according to the distributors web site the PN for the turbo is 10783... Now using the other website (whom shall remain nameless) they label it as a T3-T4e_50-S3-STD0-48. I may not be a rocket scientist but from what I can gather from Turbonetics website by trying to custom build this turbo that it is a T3 series turbo using a T04E 50 trim compressor and a .48 AR turbine housing, but I have no idea what the S3 and STD0 mean. If anyone can get me pointed in the correct direction for this info I would appreciate it much..
Now my next question is regarding the GT-K series turbo... Is it safe to assume that a GT-K325 is rated up to about 325HP? Turbonetics really doesn't put any information about this turbo up on their website other than just general info... Any one with any personal experience with the GT-K series? I have read a few posts with people making comments about them not being all they are cracked up to be...
Thank you for the assistance. It will defiantly help me out in making my decision as to what I want to do, as I get some answers I am sure I will come up with more questions...
Much appreciated.
