So I picked up a used T3 turbo and im trying to get as much info on it as I can. What I know is its a T3 .48AR. I measure the Inducer (47mm) and the Exducer(60mm) and used the formula found on garretts website to determine It is a 60 trim. Now I was told it was a 50 trim and I guess most people would assume that since the housing is actually rather small. The turbo itself seems like a hybrid of Garret exhaust housing, Turbonetics cover, and Airsearch is also printed on the center section. It is internally gated. I would like to know if anyone else is running a turbo like this and can give me some info on the PSI it will perform too and possibly the spool up time. Thanks!

I've seen Garrett, Airesearch and turbonectics all on the same turbo before. Either Garret is a division of airesearch or the other way around and turbonetics is just a acompany that rebuilds and manufactures custom turbocharger applications and such, and they use Garrett and Rayjay turbo castings/housings. That was probably from around the time of the year 2000 - 2001, or at least that's the timeframe when i started noticing the same markings all on one turbo and took my aprenticeship in building them. THe info about garrett and airesearch is info that was given to me by the shop where i took that aprenticeship

Garrett automotive WAS AIReasearch. Turbonetics uses a lot of garrett stuff.

Okay, i didn't remeber it exactly but i was close :) We've got a T3 that has AiResearch on the comp housing, but is machined to hold a t4 46 trim wheel inside the T3 comp housing. It was a gift from our friends at Majestic for our neon sleeper project.

Looking at that turbo on the shelf in our living room every day is how i remeber most of that info actually. The turbo has never been on a car, but is waiting to go on my ol lady's neon sleeper/track car. we just need the header and to get the motor finished up by the machine shop (oh and management, thinking megasquirt actually)

So do many 60trims have an .48 a/r? The turbo seems a little small IMO.

the pictures dont give good judgement. It seems to be a 60 trim wheel, but what a/r is the compressor housing? Maybe even getting the turbine wheel specs will help alot. The turbo can be converted aka swap out the compressor housing for a bigger a/r and bigger turbine housing to increase the flow of the turbo.

looks like a stage III super 60 from a Mopar 2.2/2.5

The compressor housing has 20375 on it. I found this PDF with some good info.
http://turboneticsownersclub.com/turbos/TNcat2.pdf
so it is in fact a 60trim most resembling to a Turbonetics 20272T turbo.
It appears its 275-325HP stage 1 T3.

So...I guess I'll see how it compares to my 14b this summer.
