So Im taking apart my block. Its pretty much bare except for the crank.
Im having trouble getting two of the sprockets/gears or w/e out.

This is saving me $140 at the shop since they're doing the bore/hone/clean for 125 but want 265 if it wasnt broken down.

1st does "A" come off? I was reading the engine disassembly thread and it appears to be. Ive removed the center bolt but they dont exactly pull off. Should some force by way of hammer do the trick?

2nd I also saw that "B" (castle plug) is supposed to come out but I cant even get "C" off LOL

3rd How do I get "C" off? Gotten the impact gun on it and stopped the shaft from moving, but it still doesnt come loose. Also used breaker bar and socket. Still nothing.

Some hints would be awesome. Thanks guys!

An Impact gun is your best friend for the crank bolt (A) and would also get the 14mm oil pump nut (C) off easily. Once they`re off, the sprockets will slide off (they may be tight but they will come off) :talon:

Thanks for the input. But Ive actually already got the crank bolt out. I guess I'll just apply pressure on the pully (i didnt want to break anything)

and C I did that as well. But the shaft that it is connected to just spins... Is there something I missed as to how to stop it from doing so?

There's a Mitsubishi tool that you can use to hold "C" stationary while you loosen the bolt, but I just use a crowbar and carefully hold it in place. After "A"'s nose bolt is off, those pulleys just pull straight off with no fuss. You can carefully use a small prybar if you need to. "B" has a Mitsubishi special socket that turns it - lots of the guys here just use a screwdriver and hammer it counter clockwise. If you can't get it unscrewed it's not a big deal... just take the oil pump off and carefully pull the shaft out. If you unbolt the oil pump housing on the back the shaft comes out with the oil pump gear.

A: If you've got the bolt off already just gently tap it with a hammer to loosen the gear. It should just slide off.

B: The castle nut plug is part of the front cover/oil pump. If you plan on re-using the cover just leave it alone. I always use a pair of 90 degree bent needle pliers to remove them though.

C: Is attached to the balance shaft if I remember right. If you remove the rest of the green arrowed bolts and gently take the cover off it will come out in one piece. From there you can lock the shaft into a vise to remove the nut. If you do plan on using that front cover again be very careful removing it. It uses dowels pins to hold it in place and can be hard to dislodge without cracking it.

I see no reason to remove B, i never did. But YMMV. You can also use the old t-belt wrapped around it to stop C. the crank sprocket should come off easily, if not, just run a couple bolts back in it, enough to create handles, and use a heavy flat blade braced somewhere to pry it loose.

Thanks for the suggestions for getting C off.
But I have already held the shaft still and applied force.
It doesnt spin, (the shaft or bolt)
Its as if its torqued down crazy tight.

But Ill just save myself the hassle and take it out together and just get a diff front case LOL
