Ok well I took the turbo off for the second time to port it today.

I ported the crap out of everything, and it still creeps!

I'm still on the 14b, I shouldn't be creeping at all in the first place!

I am pretty sure my wastegate works because I tested it with my air compressor and it opens just fine.

I don't know what to do anymore, it still creeps to 18 psi no matter what I do to this d@mn car. I can't afford to go external or get new injectors+safc. I may try and weld in a resonator in the exhaust, hopefully that will help, as well as quiet my car down.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Keep in mind this was all done with a dremel :)

*I am waiting for a new 7cm gasket to come in Monday, would running the stock 6cm gasket with my turbo like this and a ported 2g manifold possibly cause my creep issues??

It shouldnt cause creep but it could work against flow. Thats super wierd a 14b would creep like that, even w/ high flow exhaust like you have. The resonater idea might help.

So can a t25 creep? I have a 3" n1 exhaust. This is the thing, my car studders at full boost and Im not sure if the boost jumps up, I will be doing a boost leak test, Im going to clean my side mount (I know it has a lot of oil) and Im going to replace my plugs with some ngk7's. I can't do that right now because Im in Germany but I will be going back on the 27th of March, but if none of that works do you think that porting will be my best bet?

Of course a 14b will creep.
Espicially with a large exahust

verify the wastegate actuator is functioning 100%
ext dump o2 housings help some.

I checked my wastegate actuator last weekend and it seemed to be working just fine.
I am afraid that if I go with an external o2, I will still creep, I have heard of that happening to people. Plus I can't afford it at the moment and its so damn loud LOL.

Thing is, I have a Dejon downpipe made for an evo3 o2 housing, does anyone know of an external dumping o2 that would fit my dp??

I upgraded my T25 to a 14B and i NEVER saw a turbo creep like the 14B does... i had a non-ported o2 housing, tubular exhaust manifold, 3'' down pipe and a 3'' exhaust with my T25 and it was no prob... when i put the 14B on i ported the o2 Housing and STILL the turbo just keeps building boost... the actuator WAS bad and i got a new on and the problem keeps happending... 10lbs arround town but when you stomp on it itll got to almost 20! the only thing to do is to get the fuel to back it up....

ANY mitsu style 02 housing will work for you.

1g, 2g, evoIII ect.
punishement racing,
megan racing,
rnr racing
bla bla the list goes on and on.
DID you port your O2 housing? if not, port the ballz out of it will help some.

but like stated, 14b + big exhaust will creep. Porting helps some, but the physics of it are just creepy.

THe path down through the turbine is just a better flow than through the wastegate passage, Port that sucker within a inch of its life LOL, or just backit up with fuel til you get a larger turbo.

External DUmp housings do help, but I am skeptical about some of the brands like punishment, I had an RNR dump 02, and comparing it to a punishment, the dump tube seems ridiculous. The RNR dwarfs all others i have seen. Ill attach a picture of it, so you can see what I mean.

I cut and re welded the lower section to change the way it fell, but you see what I mean, Massive

a dump o2 can be had for under 100$ on the classifieds aswell as ebay often.

it Will Help. but wont cure.

With that 02 housing, creeping issues were Limited to around 17psi when boost was set at 15.

it would hold 15 Til around 5500, then start climbing to 17.
this is what Nothing ported in the turbo.

Well I have a new problem on my hands now. Yesterday when I was taking the turbine housing and o2 off, I must have bumped the alternator and wastegate rod at the same time because I got a huge spark off the wastegate arm. Then this morning the car wouldn't charge over 12.2 volts. So today I went and picked up a new alternator and installed it. Car now won't charge over 12v. I put a charger on the battery right now. Maybe I fried the battery too...? I have a warranty on that also so if this one won't hold a charge, I'll go and pick up another Monday or Tuesday. I hope I didn't fry anything else......

Lordpaxin: Are you sure that any o2 housing will fit? because I have a ported evo3 right now, and the downpipe I bought from Dejon was made to fit the evo3 housing because it comes out at a different angle.

since you have an ported evoIII i doubt an ext dump will do you any good. over what you have now.

creep will prevail

Ya I pretty much give up LOL. I'm poor and the car is just a pain in the ass nowadays. I swapped alternators today only to find out I just blew the 80A fusible link. Now I have to go find one tomorrow. I hope autozone or pepboys sells them....

if its outrageous, lemme know, I have a 91 awd shell that ill pull the link off and you can have it for cheap , super cheap

Dude I got the same problem as you but I have an automatic so its hell. I have a ported 14b with 3" straight pipe exhaust. What do you guys think the chance of adding a resonator to the exhaust would help this problem? This has to be solved, I'm creeping all the way till it fuel cuts.

Before you start going nuts on buying more parts to cure your creep, you should take a look at some other porting threads with people that have your exact same problem.

A trick I've learned from Oldman is to shape it so the exhaust gasses can go into the wastegate easier. From what I see of your port job in picture 1, exhaust gasses have to make a near 90 degree turn to get out.

Also, don't forget to smooth down your work.

I'm sure I could take more material out above the wastegate entrance, but there is no way I am taking the turbo off again for more porting. Especially with a dremel tool LOL. I am sick of spending almost entire weekends on end to not make much progress.

My next step is to find a nice 18 or 24" resonator to get welded in my exhaust. Hopefully that should give me just enough backpressure I need to help battle the creep. Plus I would like my exhaust a little quieter, so I'm not throwing a resonator in to just battle creep. Are their any resonators out there that any of you recommend??

Thanks,
Shane

What about getting a 34mm wastegate flapper and machining the wastegate valve out to that size? Porting it like you did will help but without a bigger port you will probably still have some issues with creep.
