I had either one or two belts break. But it wasnt the power steering belt even though when I was driving the power steering went out. The car overheated bad and I had no oil pressure. I did look by the oil filter and realized the belt ripped a wire. Whats wrong and what needs to be replaced?

The wire that got ripped off was likely the oil sending unit wire, look for a 1" cyl on the oil filter housing. Fix wire, it should be black with a little white snap clip on the end of it.

Did you drive on the broken belt? I sure hope not, the water pump is driven by a belt, no belt = no coolant cycle.

Replace the belts.

I thought the water pump was driven by the timing belt? I only drove like 2-3 minutes after the belt first broke. It didnt overheat for that long. I wasnt far.

No the water pump is driven by a V-belt. Only the cams and oil pump are driven by the main timming belt, secondary belt drives the front balance shaft.

Well 2-3 mins shouldn't be enough to do much damage. Fix your belts.
