HELP what is this and where does it go

I was swapping ecus when I saw this when I was done. I don't know if it is suppose to go anywhere or just hang there. It is attached to a fairly thick "clearish" cord that goes up near the steering wheel.

It almost looks like a throttle cable but smaller.
But seriously see if there is anything around that it looks like it could be hooked to.

Yeah I know, it does look like that. It is a braided steel line.

Could it be for something with the heater? I know on my 1g there are random lines connecting all the vents and things to open and close in order when you turn the knob. Although I dont think they were steel... Just a thought.

that looks like the control cables for the HVAC controls, move your selector for air flow and see if it moves.
