Hello,

I am new to this site, but I am in need of urgent help. The check engine light for my '95 Eclipse GST went on recently, and I took it to a mitsu shop to get a diagnostic done. After spending $600 on major maintenance, the shop said I needed to spend another $400 to buy an AIC (Air Intake Control) motor. What does this do? What does it look like? Where is it located? And is there any way I can get the part for cheaper??? The mechanics at mitsu said if I don't replace it soon, it will destroy my ECU...

Any info would be great. Thanks.
~Vic

P.S. If anybody knows a good website or two where I can find cheap Mitsu Eclipse parts for my GST, please let me know. I also need to buy new radiator hoses and a new starter motor.

Do the mean Idle Air Controller? They go out alot on these cars...they are located underneath the throttle body. They are circular and kind of brownish. I had like 3 of them, but I sold them all. I might be able to find some more. Don't pay $400 for them, I sold mine for like $35. They will not destroy your ECU, it will just idle funny until you get it fixed. Check the classifieds on this site for people parting out cars, and check DSMTrader.com or eBay. Be careful on Trader though.. there are a good number of people on there that will screw you over.

YEAH.

I think some other people on this forum have the exact same problem. People are saying it's the ISC motor. Is this the same as the IAC? or the AIC?? If so, I really need to get my hands on one...If you can find another working one, that would be great!

Thanks for all your replies.

IAC and ISC are the same.
