Help!! Turbos: FP , PTE Or Holset ?

Hi guys i need some help here but i'll explain first what are my goals with the car.

I Plan On Getting rid of my Turbo. (It's From ebay along with the manifold so it's crap) so i am upgrading both components which leaves me room for many options, not just T3 flange turbos. My Plans with the car are aside from the turbo are putting cams, springs & retainers &all that supporting mods for the cams. and on the future put some pistons & rods on the engine an build it. On Power Goals I Don't know so i will say 500hp . I Don't Know An Exact Number. This Is The Most Important thing to me: I want a turbo that would work well with stock bottom end and will give decent numbers & that will work in pair with the upgraded bottom end later on. Because I Don't have the budget to change turbos twice (17 Year Old Dsm'er With Part Time Job).

So Here My Options & My Questions Along With Them:

1. Pte 6262 Billet JB - This is the option that i know the most of, but what scares me from it is that i don't know if the technology from the JB reliabilty is the same as the sc series which are crap & will fail quickly. as i said i cannot afford to change turbo twice. The Price With The Erl Manifold Is Around 1,300.

2. Fp Turbos - I Don't know much about this turbos but i have read here that they are the best & most reliable, but more expensive but it's worth it. I Would Like To Know All The Turbos With Dsm Flange & It's Power Ratings So I Can Make A Choice.

3. Holset - I Don't Know Nothing About These But I Have Heard That The Hx-35 Model Is Popular and delivers great results. but i don't know what would i need to mount it on my car.


So In Summary if what im trying to find is turbo that would suit my need both when im stock bottom end but would not max out when i forge the bottom end
or a turbo that would the car would make like 450 hp or more.. on stock bottom end. i really like the FP because they have a clean look & it's pretty bolt on ish.

How Laggier Is The Hx 35 & 40? Laggier Than a 6262 Or A GT35R Or 50 Trim Turbo?
Too many variables to give you a firm answer here. Turbine housing selection, manifold choice, engine condition and compression ratio all effect overall spool time.

Of course, the HX35 in the DSM bolt-on turbine housing would be the least laggy but flow the least, and the HX40 in the T3 .70 turbine housing would be the most laggy but flow the most as well.
 
Bry You and i are thinking about the same setup LOL. The way that i want to do it( to give you some ideas) is this. Im looking to get either hx35 or hx40 6 or 7 blade, then getting the .55 ar BEP (bulls eye performance) housing, for the manifold i will get the FP race mani, its been proven and is a very strong piece and the BEP housing will bolt right up. I will then call Punishment Racing to (convince them) so i can buy the o2 housing with the external wastegate sepparate from their bundle, get my many coated by Bonehead Performance gold to mach my valve cover:p and Done!. Good luck with whatever you decide to do
