HELP starting problem

im posting this for my friend his 93 eclipse gsx the tranny went bad, but the car still ran. anyways he said it sat for awhile then one day he tried to start it and it wouldnt crank over so he put a new battery in it and still wouldnt crank over it just made a clicking noise when he tried to start it

Give any opinion or advice you have(all will be appriciated)

Tell your friend to check the connections on the starter. They may have corroded from sitting. Also just for the sake of it try to turn the engine over by hand. One other trick is to have someone try to turn the key while another person taps on the starter solenoid with a hammer. Tap lightly!! You are not trying to drive a nail into a board you are just trying to jar the starter. This trick can also work sometimes if your fuel pump quits working. You can tap on the tank firmly and sometimes jar the pump into working again. I have done this and it can work to get you home. It sounds like the starter is stuck but make sure the connections are clean and tight. Keep us posted.

Could be the ignition switch because that was my problem until I ditched the turn key and used a push button to start it. Check your fuses as well.
