just finished swaping a non-crankwalked 7bolt into my 95. however it wont start, it turns over but something is bogging it. when i go to start it the motor cranks fine and quick but on the 2nd or 3rd rotation it boggs and slows the turning, it kinda goes back and fourth between slow and fast... the timing is fine and its getting fuel and spark, so it sounds like it wants to run but something is in the way... could the starter be not disengaging? both wires going to the starter are hooked up properly, what might cause a the starter to not disengage?

i have tried 3 batteries 1 of which is brand new and another is a 1 year old optima that i just charged for about 8 hours, somthing is not allowing the motor to be turned over freely...

when it does bogg it ticks kinda and makes a whining noise coming from the starter... anyone have any ideas?

the flywheel teeth look a little roughed up too, and they were perfect when i installed it... could the starter gear be engaging to far into the flywheel and cause the slow cranking?

If it sounds like it's hitting against something, perhaps you crossed some plug wires? Do a compression test to make sure that's ok since it's not all that hard to do. Verify your wires on the coils are in proper order.

wires are fine, and the car has to be running to do a compression test... im gonna remove the starter and see whats up...
