Starter issue

In my fwd 92 talon i put in a new starter that my old went out. When i turn on the car it makes a weird grinding noise then starts with out a problem and runs fine after it is started. Anyone else had this issue? Im hoping my flywheel is good. just hoping i have to lube it up or something... Thanks..

I would make sure its the right starter for that car. Make sure they sold you a fwd one and not an awd one. I have seen people have this problem when something like that comes up.

yea thats what i contacted them about. They assured me that its a fwd and a turbo one. anything else could be?

FWD and AWD are the same. 5 speed and auto are not, make sure you have the correct one.

yep they told me manual. thats what i needed. ill have to look into making sure they actually sent me what they were supposed too. i shouldnt need to simply lube it up right? im thinking the teeth arent engaging correctly.
