Ok, so I started having issues with my starter. Sometimes it would not want to start at all. The car inside the cab makes the Click sound.

1. Put the keys in the car
2. Push the Clutch in
3. Turn Key
4. Relays Click
5. Starter does nothing

I just replaced the starter and the same issue exists.

So, here is the crazy part. The car will start one time, and once it is warmed up it will not start anymore. So if I wait until tomorrow morning the car will start right up, and if I kill it before it is warmed up, I will be able to start the car again without any problems.

Also this has happened a few time to me in the past however now it is 100% consistant.

Thanks

I cant put my finger on that problem however it has been my experience that some electric components tend to work fine only until the get hot. For instance i had a chevy truck that did that same thing and it turned out to be the ignition control module. every time i tested it, it showed to be good but then i tested it while it was still hot and it showed to be bad. Does the car die after it warms up or do you just have a starting problem?

So here is some more info.

I pulled the starter completly out of the car, and straped it down to something, and low and behold it works just fine. You turn the Key and it spins just like it should.

I put it back in the car it starts right up. The car warms up and nothing. Now before I pulled it out of the car I tried to start it and I could hear the starter clicking, both in the engine compartment and the relay clicking in the cab.

I agree with 1990. Replace your starter relay, it's most likely the cause and only about 15 bucks at your local auto parts store.

I once had to take out a starter bolt, wire wheel it, and put it back on the car. Believe it or not, even though the starter was tightly bolted to the transmission with two bolts, it was NOT grounded. WTF

Well I replaced the Ground wire and just cleaned everything with a wire brush and it works perfect now. Thanks for all the info.
