HELP!!! she wont even crank over!

Ok so i got into my car after school, put the key in the ignition, push the clutch down, turn the key and... nothing. try it again, nothing happens. so i hook the jumper cables up to my friends car(dunno if i did that right but it was positive to positive, and his negative to a ground on my car) turn the key. it sounded like it almost started cranking over, maybe for a split second, if that, it started cranking, then it stopped. i got out changed the ground, and tried again. occasionally the door ajar light would turn on, but not every time. but every time i changed the ground, it would almost start to crank, then it would stop. so is my battery just completely dead or do i have bigger problems?? oh yeah and nothing else electric would work, radio, power locks, lamps, nothing. Thanks for your help!

Possibly dead battery or starter relay but first disconnect and clean all battery and starter connections.

if you hear a click thats the starter working
but since there is no turning I would have to agree with it being the battery.

1) Buy battery terminal cleaner, use said cleaner.

2) If problem still exists buy new battery

3) Get back to us with results.

ya me and my dad went and bought and bought a new battery, installed it and it started fine. thanks for all ur help
