Today, me and my dad "were" going to take off the cylinder head, my dad's a mechanic but hates japanease cars, he is more into that american Muscle or to say better american cars that he has worked on LOL anyways, we took of the head bolts and ran into a proplem, my dad removed the batery and noticed that there is an Intake manifold Stay is that true, that its holding the head from coming out, we can move the head and all it's just something from behind the head or intake manifold that is holding the head from coming off. Is it the stays? if so if we remove the stays the head should come off??

There should be (2) 14mm bolts holding that bracket right behind the intake manifold, though is pretty tight behind the intake and firewall, once you remove those the rest should be easy...

Any mitsubishi/haynes/chilton manual would be very helpful if you've never removed the cylinded head before... im NOT calling you newbie, but really a manual helps alot to locate things like this, also if you run into other small issues during re-intall process.
