The Selenoid Yes guys i need some help on doing this, very detail help becuase im not experiance what so ever but i do have commen sence LOL.... Would i need a boost gauge if i did this small free upgrade? aight guys thanks and please detail this i would gladly apriciate it and rep will def be given out.

Pretty simple man, just look below your intake pipe on passenger side fender. You will see the solenoid bolted to the fender with two small hoses coming off it. Unbolt it from the fender, remove the lower hose. You should see a small brass restricter pressed into the fitting. Use a small drill bit or self tapping screw, screw it into the restricter itself and then back it out. The restricter should come out with the screw. Be extremly careful not to crack the plastic solenoid cause I think they are pretty pricey from the dealers. You should buy a boost gauge anyway before you start doing any mods, but you should be ok, when I done this mod I went from 14psi to 16psi on my T2small. Hope this helps you out man!

You may not see any change in boost. I did the BCS mod and am getting 11psi (aftermarket gauge). All cars are different, and considering how easy this mod is, it's certainly worth doing, as you may have a larger gain.

Another thing to consider is that the stock 2g BOV will leak at levels beyone 12-14psi, so you might not get any gain in boost because of this. A fairly cheap mod is to get a 1g BOV for $25 off of ebay and get the adapter that lets the 1g BOV flange connect to the 2g upper intercooler pipe (not sure how much the adapter is). The 2g BOV clamps onto the UICP while the 1g BOV has a flange with 2 bolts, so you need the adapter if you have the stock UICP. The 1g BOV is a very solid component, and many 2g owners have them on their cars even for fairly high boost levels.

If you plan on upgrading your UICP (the stock 2g unit is HORRIBLE), then you could wait and get the UICP with a 1g BOV flange (or have it flanged for whatever BOV you decide to buy) and save some money by not purchasing the 2g-1g BOV adapter. However, if you intend, ultimately to go to a FMIC setup, you should probably just get the 1g BOV and adapter and wait to get the intercooler piping for the FMIC. This is because the stock side-mount IC requires a different UICP than the FMIC, so you'd have to replace the SMIC UICP when you went to the FMIC.

Hope that made some sense.

dude you already 99% done! When looking at the 2 nipples (LOL) one you will see is smaller inside diameter than the other. Thats where you want to thread a screw into and pull it out. Its just a lil sleeve type thing so to speak, very small. Any screw will work as long as its not too big as to crack the nipple all together. Just thread it a few turns and yank the thing out and your done. :thumb:

Imagine the internet is down and you need to drive your car in 5 minutes. Should have labeled which one is which shouldn't you? You will learn that quick. Do it for every bolt you ever take off. Do it for every everything you take off, because you WILL FORGET which way it (anything) goes back on.

And please try to work on your spelling and grammar, it helps with reading and searching:

with-which
tubeing-tubing
westgate-wastegate

Doesn't sound like a big deal, but if I was in a similar situation as you are in, and was searching for "wastegate and nipple," I wouldn't find your post, and thus, none of all of these helpful answers and links.

Good luck (and I bet the vfaq, searching or that handy link I posted to plymouthlaser.com has your answer). :thumb:

Im guessing that the westegate tubeing goes to the bottom nipple, only becuase thats whare you would get the extra PSI by removeing the restrictor am i right???
