where ever,
New Jersey
alright i bought my buddy drews old talon. he finished putting the car together the night before he left for south carolina. on initial start up he found or at least thinks the ecu is dead. it just cranks but wont start...which is a typical dead ecu symptom. so i ran home and grabbed the ecu out of my other RUNNING 92 talon. that still didnt start the car. but the running car i took the new ecu from idled like it had cams in it, (car is completely stock, even stock air filter). I ran the part number on that ecu and up as a 1990 5spd ecu, so it was the wrong year. but...i also had another 1990 eprom ecu that i got from motoguys garage...plugged that into my stock dsm (not drews) and it made it idle like a caddy (no more cam-like idle.) so i took that ecu figuring it was good, plugged it into drews car and it started if i assisted it by reving the gas. it had a bad miss and it idled at 4k rpm. drews car has a fmic, 2g mass, afc2, 16g, etc. what im wondering/hoping is...if i order a new 1992 5spd turbo ecu from motoguys will it fix the problem. if anyone has any input please let me know asap.
