Help Please, is it ok?

Ok, here goes, i'm doing 11.2 on the 1/8 mile track, my 90 eclipse gsx is stock, but i did fix almost all the engine, my turbo is charging 9psi, i'm thinking of puting 15psi, is this ok? Is my time so far ok being stock? Is mi turbo ok? Is 15psi ok or 14psi? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can do it, but I don't see what good cranking up the boost is going to do unless you swap out the exhaust for a quality 2.5" setup. And you are measuring your boost from a factory aftermarket gauge, correct?

i did buy a new boost gauge, so 2.5 you say, if i don't get a 2.5 is not going to work at all?

It'll still work, but with the amount of backpressure you'll be dealing with by increasing boost on a stock exhaust sytem, it's not going be as much of a performance gain as you would have with an aftermarket exhaust.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, but with that aftermarket exhaust your turbo will spool up a bit sooner as well since the exhaust is flowing more freely, which will help your 1/8 times more than pumping up the boost.

Thank's dude , sorry i didn't tell you this before, is one of my first post, i have a turbo muffler, and i have a straigt exhaust sytem, i dont have a cat, in my country that does not matter, 2 1/4 i think

Oh, well if you're running a straight pipe, you'll be fine cranking up to 15 psi. Do you have a downpipe as well?

I am living in Guatemala right now, a latin country, that's why i said there is no problem in driving with a straigt exhaust sytem.

Is your car an auto? Post some more info from your timeslip. 11.2 in the 1/8 means either you are a horrible driver or something may be wrong with the car. I would do a complete tuneup as far as all fluids, belts, boost leak test and above all a compression test. A healthy motored 1G should run at least mid to low 9's even with an average driver. I ran a 9.6 in my 2G bone stock with a 2.1 60' and I used to suck at teh driving. Good luck with everything though.

Is a 5gear car, 9 low's, i really do suck , maybe is how i start at the exit, i acellerate at 5000 rpm's en let go at the last yellow light, i change gears at 6000rpm's, almost 7, is it ok? Please give me some pointers , as i said my car is a 90 eclipse gsx, maybe my turbo is not ok, maybe is the timing of the car wrong, That's what i tought!!!!, how do i check for turbo licks, finally, is it ok to put more psi on my turbo, 15 is ok? Please help!!!!!!!!!!

turbo licks can be found with the popsicle test...

seriously the first thing you need to do is a tune up...plugs, check your wires, run some injector cleaner, etc etc.

Then check for boost leaks.

What kind of gas do yall have down there?
