Well Ive read some other posts but I haven't really stumbled upon anyone with experience I was looking for. Here's the situation. Im in Connecticut and the car is a 95 but they force me to go by obd1 rules regardless that obd2 works fine. So since its awd they just do it on the ground and not the dyno. I had a highflow cat and that did jack so Im running with no cat. Also Im running narrowband sim in dsm link.

So my questions are the follow........

Whats the easiest way to lean the pig out while still getting the right balance of all the stuff their looking for.
ex I was thinking of just changing the voltage switchpoint for narrowband so it moves the afr number higher. ex. lc1 is 2.43 go to 3.43 or something. or do I just change the DA tables.

What afr should I be aiming for and should I adjust timing because this also effects the burn/ emmissions.

Then last is I have some e85 that I was thinking of using but Im afraid that it will be too low cause they have low limits too. Or do I go with a hybrid mix of 50 percent e85 and gas.

On more was they hit the "cat" with a temp gun. On a functioning cat temps after are cooler then before. Are they searching for the different or are they just checking exhaust pipe temp to determine if vehicle is warm enough for testing.

Thanks guys this is a absolute pain in the butt as I know how many of you guys have to deal with this. It is no fun at all. And Ive been putting this off and now its to the point were I can't renew reg until I pass and Im not spending 700 to get the car to have immunity.

you wont be able to do that.

Excessive lean increases NOx emissions

Excessive rich increases CO2 and CO emissions.

You will need to find a balance between the two which will pass. This balance happens to be drumroll.... Stoich. So I know I wish it worked that way but it simply doesn't. **I may have it backwards or mixed up, but the concept remains the same, rich creates some failing condition, and lean makes the other conditions fail***

Try buying a real good cat, (not a race one, a non-race one) and making it swappable with a test pipe. Then use it for emissions. or spend $700 on a turbo upgrade and be waived for 2 more years, then hopefully you are old enough to register historic in your state.

I would love to do that but my exhaust is a solid 1 piece of stainless. I got tired of exhaust leaks

Hey dumb dumb that stuff dont work. Never failed to be impressed on a daily basis.

Well thats why I wanted to mix it. the ethnol will help with proper combustion, while allowing their to still be petroleum emissions. But what do I know, guess I'll go by some mechanic in a bottle.
