ok so i justs got this 1g laser all wheel drive.... it had a blown head gasket.... relaced the head gasket and all other gaskets on the top end. now i got the car running well but if the rpm goes any higher then idle the idiot oil light comes on but at idle is fineneed some suggestions... im thinkin oil pump but im low on funds and would rather be more sure then not..... by the way the presser gauge is stuck on high either its grounded or gauge busted has nothing to do with sending unit already checked i will deal with that later right now im worried about the oil pressure....

If you are positive the pressure sending unit is good and the wiring has a good connection, as well as confirmed the oil pressure is low via a mechanical oil pressure gauge, then you probably have worn bearings. The oil pump in your particular engine is straight-cut gears - it is a very robust unit that rarely fails. Did the guy drive around with that blown head gasket for a while? Antifreeze in the oil would do that.

no he didnt drive it around with it blown and the water and oil never mixed... and i am positive its somthing wrong with the cluster as far as the pressure gauge but the light is has a proper conection if i disconect it the light never comes on so i know its not grounding on anything.... the engine does however makes a whine when it builds rpm
whch contributes. to me thinking oil pump

ok pump is fine found out when i disconected the gauge sensor to hook up the mechanical gauge and left the idiot light hooked up the idiot light stoped coming on when the rpms clime whitch means a short between the two sensors wiring somewhere between the sensors and the cluster but i still cant figure out what the whining noise is when i rev the motor but it sounds like its coming from somwherein the timing area.... maybe timing belt idler pulley?.....
