I just got done rebuilding my top end. Brand new turbo and all. I went to go start up my car and it idles great. But when I start to give it gas it will only rev up to about 2k. After 2k it sputters and has absolutely no power at all. I checked my timing, vacuum lines, everything. Maybe my fuel injectors are bad or something? There is one very small boost leak but I doubt it would be causing that big of a problem. Also the gas in the car is about a Year and 1/2 old could that have something to do with it. I was thinking if it lost the octane grade and the engine started knocking real bad it would really retard the ignition timing but I am not sure. Please help me!!

Thank you,
Chris

Start from the begining and check everything. Chances are it's the littlest thing that causes these kind of problems.

The first think I would do is double-check all your sensors. Starting with your CAS. Make sure they're all on snug too, and not just sitting on there with no good connection.

Old gas is a good possibility as well. I missed that when I first read the topic, but saw it just now after I re-read it to try to diagnose.

How much gas is in the tank? 1.5 years is a long time for gas to decompose. I don't know the best way to drain the gas tank (or what to do with the old gas afterward). You might be able to top it off with good gas if there's not a lot in the tank, and I'd recommend a fuel additive to clean out any shelac that may have formed from the old gas sitting. The injectors may be partially clogged or gummed up.

You say you had a small boost leak. You mean it held 20psi and leaked down slowly? Explain this a bit more.

I has not held any PSI I dont have my boost gauge hooked up but I doubt it is pushing anything over 4psi. When I said I have a small boost leak I meant that one of the vacuum isn't on the nipple tight I just need a zip tie to tighten it up.

I will hook up my boost gauge later on today after I get done ordering a supercharger for my other car.

I agree with majik2k5...check the sensors. I had a similar problem with my old 1st gen. It wouldnt go over 2 grand. All I did was pop the hood, pushed down a connection near my intake manifold, and the problem was fixed. Good luck.
