help my friend, problems with new 20G.....

Ok my friend just finished intsalling his new 20g turbo on his 98 gsx(with intake filter and 3" dp&cb) from Ddynoperformance.com er sumthin, and they told him that it would run the stock psi so he wouldent have to upgrade the fuel system untill he raised the boost ok so he got it runing today came down and said on the way done he felt it running rough so i started it up and it kidna sputtered and felt like it was running on 3 cylinders, so somthin was wrong i saw a few unhooked vacume hoses fix them but stil dint solve the problem so he gave me a ride and it spooled up very slow didnt start boosting till around 4k then when i did felt very strong for a second then flutter and felt like the car was craving somthing so im guesing more fuel..... so i ordered him a boost controler today and hes getting the injectors pump and afc package from extremepsi.com next week, hopefully this will solve hte problem what do u guys thing.....

oh yea when it boosted in blew the BOV right out of the whole and left a dent in the hood.......

any accitance would be great thanks....
 
My car did the same thing a few days ago. It would misfire at idle but would be fine at partial throtle. When I floored it it would pull hard until high boost and then sputter and loose power. I changed the spark plugs and it didn't help but when I changed the wires it ran like a dream again. So change those spark plugs and wires and it might fix it.
 
im pretty sure its more serious like fuel but maybe, but ill tell him to change his plugs but his wires are brand new moroso 8.5mm i believe

OMG. First thing first, never take your car to them again and let them know they are all morons. So many people think that 10 psi is 10 psi. That is so far from wrong its nto even funny. The 10 psi on a t25 is alot less air volume than the 10psi from a 20g. They should have told you to upgrade the fuel system either before or at the same time you installed the turbo. Your friend is detonating and that is why the car isnt pulling. give us more info on the car like all of the mods the car has on it and what mods will be going on it soon. I hope he didnt kill a piston running that way becasue if he did he needs a new motor.

Also, GET A LOGGER. You may not want to spend the money but it is cheaper than buying a motor.

ok thanx..... has k&n filter 3"dp and catback..... and thats all i just ordered him a BC and hes gettin the fuel system with pump injectors and afc from extreme psi... also is that a good deal all that for 615 bucks....

OMG OMG :confused:

I dont even know were to start. You only have exhaust and yet you guys put on a 20G with not one supporting mod. This is why there are false reliablitly problems with DSM. To many noobs bolting a on a big turbo and nothing more. :mad: :mad:

You need to follow that. It will show you the proper way to mod a 2G DSM not the half-assed blow it up way.

You will need a bunch of supporting mods and now probably a new motor. That fuel system isnt a bad price. You may be able to find better prices if you look around, but you still have to piece it together. I would buy it just for the convienance of a one stop shop.

Good luck and please read up on the board and do research before buying parts it will make your life alot easier.
