I just went to go to my friends well before i pulled out i noticed no gauge lights, tail lights, and my car wont shut off. this sucks. The fuse for the tailamps keeps blowing(the one under the hood. It just started this while sitting in the driveway. when i parked it, it was fine:cry:

If it won't shut off, you may just have to disconnect the battery until you can take it to a good mechanic who can diagnose your electrical issues. Wish I could help more. You need a young priest and an old priest.

Well i tried bypassing the dimmer and still nothin.I took the bolt out of the fuse box and flipped it over. theres definetely a funny smell comin from the fuse box where the wires come out, but its 5 degrees out and i dont want to stand out there troubleshooting it in this weather. Does anyone have any other suggestions. oh and i also took the gauge assembly out and its still blowin fuses.i have no radio in my car. so theres no wires in there. please help these mechanics around here are freakin gypsys.

Ive checked everything. Whatever is shorting my tailights out is powering my car when i turn the key back. Where should i look? I have to pull the 20amp motor fuse , and negative everytime i go somewhere.

p.s where can i find the MPI relay?

In all honesty it could be something as simple as your battery terminal shorting out by touching the bottomside your hood while driving.

When I had this issue it ended up being a distribution problem between by gauges and my battery. I wired a distribution box from Stinger and haven't had the problem since.

So yeah, it could be anything.

my buddy had the same problem on his 96 gs-t. the lights all stayed on at all times. he'd have to disconnect the neg. terminal eveytime. i'll give him a call and see if he remembers what his deal was. If he remembers it was back in 05

Wow that would be great. Please let me know

I tried the light bulb trick to find a short, and the bulb did light. I bypassed the dimmer by hooking the black/yellow wire to the black ground wire. I know theres someone here that knows whats wrong with it

Could someone tell me what all is on the tailamp circuit.

I have the exact same problem with blowing tail light/dash light fuses.
One of the rear bulbs was almost burnt out, so I took out all 6 bulbs in the rear. The same 10A fuse runs the dash lights, front markers, rear markers, and running lights in the rear.
I am going to have to trace the wires and find where it shorted, under the fuse box in the hood looks to be in working condition.
Grrr!

Sorry man hopefuly tomrrow i can get a hold of my buddy. hes in pick up denial. i tried twice. for some reason i wanna say it was somethin with the tail lights... but let me try to get a hold of him and i'll let u know.

I just got a 1g and it is doing something similar-it feels like the ingition switch is sticking on the inside,it stays running untill you pull the key out and they you hear something fall in the tumbler.Check your ingition switch(electrical part, not keys)

alright i finally got a hold of my buddy. i had to go the see him and work and talk to him. he said he has a grounding issue with the light at his cig. light bulb. it was burnt and grounding out. even pullin the fuse it'd still light up. so i'd check as much wiring as u can. most likely is somethin grounding out.. think back to. maybe something you've done recently.. Sorry for takin a while to get to you. HOpe this helps if the problem hasnt been solved
