Give that a shot. I'm curious what it would be since most the ignition CELs seem to be misfires. But that's not the case here.

Good luck nonetheless. :thumb:

Have you checked out your starter at all? Check starter wires, solenoid, and starter itself. Maybe that will help you. I did a little research and this might remedy your situation. Let me know if it helps.

its actually the factory alarm. and thanks I'm going to check the starter and wires tomorrow, hopefully this is it because i don't enjoy having to remove the engine fuse to shut it off...

Check for a short to hot between the ECU/MFI relay and the ignition switch.

Hmmm, well that rules out dieseling. I will have to do more research on the subject.

I think dieseling was ruled out when he purchased an electronically fuel injected vehicle.

It is possible for a EFI vehicle to diesel, dieseling can occur in any internal combustion engine powered by spark plugs. Not trying to turn this into an arguement.:thumb:

I suppose you are right, but a less-than-likely combination of events would have to occur, and even then it would shut down quickly.

My money is on a short.

I'm pretty sure you pull the battery terminals when you need to turn the car off, what happens when you put them back on does the car start back up or do you have to use the key.

if i disconnect the battery it stays on. though for some reason if i leave the car alone for a few hours my battery dies as if its stuck in the on position. Also anyone know where that relay is at?

btw thanks guys for the posts y'all have giving me some good ideas.:thumb:

I'd be willing to bet that whoever wired it didnt set the time limit for it to shut off. All you should have to do to make it shut off (once again if wired correctly) is when you turn the ignition off and it is still running, push the brake pedal all the way down. Let me know if it works.

update: turns out it was the rewired fuel fuel pump... the relay and wire had some problems so it kept supplying power even when the key was off so relieved and thanks guys some good suggestions. :thumb: hope this thread comes in handy to someone with the same problem
