Car shut off, won't restart.

My buddy's talon shut down going down the road and won't restart. It turns over but won't start.
He said all the power in the car shut off. When he turned the car off and clicked it forward, the power came back on. He also said that when he turns the key forward, his boost gauge goes right to 14.

Could it be a fuse or the ecm?

A good place to start is the fuses there a lot cheaper than a ecu .Is it a automatic or a standard

Check all battery connections. Then possibly check to see if you have any shorts. Mine did something similar and ended up being a blown fuse for the mfi curcuit. I later found out that the fuse blew because of a shorted wire ander the battery tray.

Ok, I will tell him to check the fuses at the battery and make sure the terminal is on well and clean.

Its a stick.

Also check the ground that connects near the firewall. For some reason that one ground gets jacked up all the time, at least in my dsms it did.
