Ok yesterday I put back my dash and the harness that go to the back of the car for the lights and fuel pump. The probleme is that I can't find where to connect 1 of the connector near the fuse box. The color of the wires are the same like the harness for the mirror switch ... Same connector same color of wires. You can see in the pictures 2 harness behind the light dimer and the connector I can't find where to connect ... I think it may be connected to the harness that goes to the back of the car because I removed a lot of wires in this harness in the begining of my build.

My build thread

Hope this make sense, kind of hard to explain ...

This is the harness to connect the mirror switch.

Here is the connector near the fuse box (just behind the light dimer switch).

I went and checked real quick (its raining here) I found a connecter similar to that and it was plugged in the power mirror switch like you did. if it quits raining I'll take the bottom side of my dash off and look around for ya. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I wanted to let ya know I did go look so you didnt think ppl were ignoring ya

Wow thanks Spooln4fun !

I know it's the right connector for the mirror switch in the 2 first pictures but I think the other connector connect in the harness that goes to the back of the car ... Maybe it as nothing to do with the mirror switch but I took picturers of it because it's the same shape of connector and same color of wires in the same place in the connector ... Just take a look near the fused box when you'll be able to ...

Thanks again Spooln4fun.

Its still raining here or I would have been in the bottom of my dash searching, but I went and read your build thread, and HOLY CRAP that was a lot of rust. Congrads on bringing that thing back it turned out real well and honestly I would have parted it out and crushed it with that much rust thats just crazy, the welds, and all body work turned out great.

On a side note, how is the dash holding up with the paint on there, have you got much driving time with it in the sun or anything?

Do your power mirrors work? Or does anything not work that should be working? That may be able to help us eliminate areas perhaps

Well, I went and took that bottom side of the dash off and looked around, and that plug that your holding goes up to my power mirror switch, perhaps the one that is plugged in your power mirrow switch is for something else:confused: I would say if everything works like it should, leave it. But have you made sure all connections were connected on the fuse and relay panels up under there?

Thanks Spooln4fun, just did the best that I can with what I have ! :)

Well seriously ? No nothing work in the car since I haven't install the battery yet ... The connector behind the mirror switch can't go anywhere else ... Not long enough of wire to be something else, Aslo these connector behind the mirror switch came out with the dash and I remember it's the right one. The other harness near the fused box with the same color of wire and same shape of connector split in the harness like you can see in the third pictures ... You are sure it doesn't connect to the harness that goes to the back of the car because I removed many wires from this harness and if I remember right I removed enough wire to discard 1 connector ... I really think it's the one but not sure at 100%

Edit: To answer your question, I don't know if this paint will hold but it's supposed to. I used Dupli-color vinyl paint and it came out pretty well.

Here are all the wires I removed from the harness that goes to the back of the car for the lights, fuel pump, speakers, rear wiper ...

Can you tell me how many connector come with this harness, this way I'll be able to know if it's the one I discard ... I also think I see it in this picture LOL but not sure ... :)

Here is my power mirror switch

As for plugs that lead to the rear of the cars harness I am rather clueless, I could try and take pics of that area up there but i knwo most of it is taped up from the factory

Wow thanks spooln4fun. Ok so it's the connector for the mirror switch but how come I got a second connector for the mirror switch ... ?

The other connector I found comes from the same harness for the fog light and cruise control ... It's just behind the switch you removed ... Can you see it ?

I hope so ... ;)

Sorry if it's long before I reply, I'm at work ...

I went back and looked around again, and didn't see anything at all. I think I ran in to this problem on my 96 tsi, and looked for somewhere for it to plug in, and never found it, so I taped it up and left it tucked behind the fog/cruise/pwr mr switch, sorry I didn't see that plug up there

Whoa that suck ... I hope it's for the mirror. Well I will see when I'll be ready to fire it up !

Anyway how come you could have 2 connectors with the same number of pin with the same colors of wire at the same place and the 2 connector have enough wires length to connect to the mirror switch ... !?

I also look in the manual and I don't see the connector behind the mirror switch that come from the same harness for the cruise and fog lights ... . I found the connector for the mirror switch and it's from the harness you confirm me ... (found it in the manual)

I dont have a clue, I had a mystery plug behind my radio when I first got this to it was a plug that looks like the TPS connector, later on (months later) I found it randomly and its for a factory alarm :) as for this situation I aint got a clue probably something mitsubishi did for no reason, like i know i have a few connections on my firewall that go no where and there taped up, there is two or three and there all together.

Yeah I also have these connectors for the factory alarm ... Well gonna try to move the mirror with the right connector and if it don't work I'll try the other one (don't know in how much time I'll be able to try it ... ).

Thanks a lot for your time spooln4fun you've been really helpfull ! :)

Here is what I found in the manual and I still can't find the connector I found behind the mirror switch ...

C03 an C27 are for cruise and fog light.
B83 is for the mirror and come from the harness I shown you in the third picture ...

It seems that I have a connector for nothing ... :hmm:
