I was driving my 1995 gsx and lost a piece from the bottom of my driver door panel. It's a long strip that goes across and its connected with those plastic body clips. I don't know what it's called. I think it is part of a ground effects package, but not sure. I need to get a replacement, but I first need to know what it's called and/or part number for it. Does anyone know what the part is and if so where I could get a replacement? Is it stock or aftermarket? I hate driving the car with it looking like that.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

No, that's aftermarket. To buy them new you will pay a ridiculous price. If it's only the piece from the door, I'm pretty sure you can use any from 95-99 gs/gst/gsx. The lower skirts differ slightly from 2ga and 2gb. Either check your local junkyard, classifieds here, or Miller import parts.

If it's just the strip that runs along the door then you can pick one off a car at a junkyard.

The door cap is that small piece that's connected to the front fender. I know, it's not on the door but it's a door cap. I'm not sure what piece you lost. If it's the piece from the door itself, you can find one on any 2g Eclipse GS, which are much more common at junkyards.

From looking at this listing I got the name door cap
http://www.ebay.com/itm/36047457039...l?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=360474570390&_rdc=1

It's that red piece in the picture and it runs across the full length of the door along the bottom.

No. Those vis pieces etc are body kits. Even a gs was available withbthe same side skirts. Its a junkyard piece that you would need to paint. 95 96 gs gst gsx were all the same except for coloring. More than one turbo car painted the silver to mimic a gs. Rs did not have side skirts.

From what I see in the picture, the red object looks exactly like the thing I'm missing. The listing is for the left and right side pieces. It says it's OEM, but for a 97 - 99. It says it will fit my car, but it doesn't look the same as the 95 version. If I remember correctly those have grooves running along the sides and my 95 doesn't have any grooves; it's all flat.

However, the piece in the picture is called a "door cap". So far this is the only name I have to go by. If I call a junk yard, I need to give them the name of the part I'm looking for. If I ask for a side skirt, it could also be the part that goes under the door and I don't need that part.

Is that the correct name for the part? "Door Cap"? If not what is it? A part number would be great if anyone has it.

I can't post a direct link because its a catalog, but http://www.mitsubishiparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html has it for $97.
Go to Body Hardware -->Door-->Exterior Trim-->Body Side mldg
They have it listed as 95-97 though...

Thanks, this might be my only option. There aren't a lot of junk yards by me and I would imagine dsm's would be hard to find in them; especially ones that haven't been stripped of these pieces, if they're even in good shape.

If it's the piece labeled 67018L in this pic, Mitsubishi calls it a "front door LH garnish" and the Mitsu part number is MR186135. Know that most junk yards and auto stores don't reference factory part numbers however.

Excellent. Now I'm seeing a lot of hits on google for that part number and yes, I know the junk yards don't recognize part numbers, but I was interested in the name so I know what to ask for without being too general.

I did a search for this part number on mitsubishiparts.com and it came up "no items found" so I question whether or not that $97 part is really a genuine part.

Thanks for this!
