Hey Guys...Today is just not my day...First, I get cheated out of $200, now I can't use my logger?

Background and problem:
Anyway, I ordered my PalmIII datalogger thinking all will go well and I will have my datalogger set up and working in no time at all...Well, everything went sour when I found out the seller decided to skimp on my order, and only gave me the cables and cheap palm; No software or nada!

So, now I am stuck trying to get mmcd to sync onto this old school Palm...Here is the dilemma tho:

To get mmcd onto the palm, you need OS 3.5 or higher...PalmIII is 3.0; I downloaded OS 4.1, and PalmOne desktop to hotsync, but to use the "quick install" mode to transfer files, I need Os 4.0 or higher already installed!!

How am I supposed to quick install my mmcd and updated OS if it's telling me I am too outdated to do it?

My day keeps getting worse, so if anyone could provide some input and troubleshoot me past this, that would be awesome

Thanks a bunch dsm'rs
-Josh

Try OBDGauge (search for it on Google), that will probably work without needing any updates.

Did you buy this logger on eBay by any chance? Quite a few people have had bad luck with their loggers after buying them from the same seller on eBay.

EDIT: Nevermind, OBDGauge wouldn't have worked anyway, being that you're a 1G. And all those people who had bad luck with eBay were using OBDII loggers.

I am not looking to change my software of choice...

I want to run mmcd, I just need to know what to do to get everything installed in my case...

The seller was very cooperative and sells them both on ebay and on talk with lots of positive feedback...

Has anyone ran the original PalmIII datalogger??

You should be able to do a manual hotsync. Connect your Palm to your PC, make sure that the hotsync is running (check your tool tray). Verify that the port selected in hotsync utility matches the port where the palm is. Then click on the hotsync icon on your palm and it ought to connect.

Good luck.

UPDATE...

I have MMCD on my logger now...But that is not the problem!!!

I can't run mmcd without OS 3.5 or higher, and my PalmIII has OS 3.0...

THe only update for 3.0 is to go to 3.3, and that's not good enough to run MMCD..

I have tried downloading 4.1, 4.0 and 3.5, and I can't get any to work on my PalmIII...

If anybody knows how, IM me at Quikshift tsi or Chime in here

Thanks
