Help identifying turbo! i need to rebuild

i have a turbo that smokes and i need to rebuild it. it originally came with the car and i was told that it was a 20g but i have my doubts. at first i thought it might be a cheap china one but now im confused because nothing i search matches up to what i have. so the compressor housing has ar .70 stamped on it with a 2 1/4 in inlet. the exhaust housing measures a little over 7cm. i didnt measure the flapper. i was unable to get exact measurements on the wheels because the micrometer was not calibrated but the compressor wheel measured out to 58mm for the inducer and 67mm for the exducer, the turbine wheel measured out to 63mm for the inducer and 73mm for the exducer. it is oil cooled and has flanges for both the feed and the drain. i am really confused and dont know what i have. any help is appreciated

It doesn't look like a "real" mitsubishi turbo do to the lack of markings on the compressor housing. Looks like a knock-off or some pieced-together hybrid something. Maybe you can find a shop that would be willing to take it and determine what it is and rebuild it for you. Otherwise it might be best to just start over.

well everything is fine inside the turbo except for the 2 seals the compressor and turbine side. i just need to know what kind of turbo it is so i can buy the seals and put it back together then get it balanced. does anyone know if the seals are universal and if they are where i can get them?

i think it might be an old bullseye performance 50 or 60 trim.. ask them, because for sure its a bulleye exhaust housing. cant tell anything else.

and those numbers on the exhaust housing next to the TM should tell you what model it is. cant see them in the pic.

exhaust housin stamp it TM G5, ive had the car for about 2 years now i picked up as a project car off someone and it wasnt running. . . so needless to say, i dont have the contact info on the previous owner. now the only thing i need to do is rebuild the turbo and it should be ready to go

thank you so much justin! i went on ebay to look up rebuild kits and all the parts seem to match up! now, performance wise, what turbo has higher cfm output, the 20g mhi or this turbo i have? and exactly how good is my turbo? should i upgrade?

This should stomp a 20G in total airflow production, but a 20G will outspool you by a bit.

Good? Eh...it's old tech. Quite old. There are better choices.

Would there be an equivalent sized turbo I can change it for that's newer in technology?I wouldn't want to change the size of the turbo since I'm sure the upgrades it has was intended to go with the current turbo.
