I cant find a step by step on how to change the balll bearing in the driver side axle. I just ordered the parts aka cv boot and bearing off rockauto. Thanks for the help. Reason for the swap? my driver side axle clicks when I turn to hard to the left.

If im gna do the driver side only, it only need one bearing right? I bought the bearing and the cv boot

What bearing did you get? A wheel bearing won't really click like that when you turn, that would be a bearing inside of the outer CV joint. Those bearings are needle bearings, I believe. I don't think there is any documentation on the internet on how to do that. Maybe in the factory manual.

I get the impression that your really asking about replacing the outer CV joint and not a bearing.

If so parts of this may help CV Boot installation

I think its the cv boot one, and it clicks really loudly. With the wheel turned all the way. What axle bearing do it need. A part number please.

Are you talking about this?

To answer both your questions, if only want to change the bearing that is clicking. It is on her over side, and it do believe it it is the outer one. What is that one called at rockauto. Com.... thats the one in would like to replace. Its really embarrassing when in with my girlfriend. Thanks guys

Since we can't hear what's clicking it makes it hard to help without any more information.

Usually it's the outer CV joint that clicks when it's damaged and you turn the wheel. That's that the picture is of. The link I posted shows how to replace the boots for the CV joints but also covers quite a bit that you have to do to replace the axle or replace the CV joint by itself.

No no I appreciate your help, it'd think its the cv boot one, because when it changed my clutch, if noticed the cv boot was torn. Over time the ticking go louder. And also the car wants to help the throe left violently at times. Is this the cv bearing then? I bought a bearing on rockauto.com, is there a way someone can verify which one off thier site is need? My interne is down, and I am using my cell phone to speak now. Thanks

Well the outer CV joint uses no bearings, just 6 balls, so you most likely ordered a wheel bearing.

Ok so what are those called theb? So if can order them. Any site reccomendations?

1. I don't think you are going to find them because the factory manual doesn't even show how to service that part of the axle.
2. If you did find the parts I wouldn't even touch it. If you have to ask about it, then it's too vital of a part to screw up. Other lives could be at stake if done wrong.
3. Axles aren't expensive to buy remanufactured.

ok guys. remanned it will be I suppose. Thanx for the advice

oh EDIT EDIT EDIT.....Its the halfshaft that I need? just checking
