I got some superglue residue on my bumper, anyone know how to get rid of it?

looks ugly, especially after a wash it is soo visible,.. looks like finger prints..

Finger nail polish remover...aka acetone works best.

But... it may damage the finish on your bumper.

+1

Just get the stuff with a lower amount of acetone in it, not the stuff that's almost pure acetone, you should be good :)

just to be sure, test a small amount in a hidden area before you go dumping the stuff on your bumper.

Use Nail Polish REmover with or without acetone. With will work faster but quicker to damage your paint. Use a Q Tip, Try to only get it on the glue. Cause even a little on the paint will damage the paint enough to show a mark, even a minor touch will cause a ghost in the paint. Shit works fast. I'm removing Tree Sapp off of my GSX using Nail Polish Remover without acetone. On one spot it went into the paint, I'm thinking I can fix it with some rubbing compound. It just made the paint kinda rough

Yes Acetone is the only thing that will remove super glue as far as I know. However I would NOT put acetone on MY paint...I would use 1500-2000 grit wet sand paper and gently rub away the glue. Once it is 100% gone, then apply 3m rubbing compound with a buffer and it will look like new again!

What about goo gone? I've never tried it with super glue but it worked pretty well on other adhesives.

Nail polish remover doesnt sound like a good idear, especially if I get on the paint.
Tried Goo Gone.. No go.. I will give lighter Fluid a try though!

Thanks, will keep everyone posted!

Nail polish remover works best. But I advise you to have a wet cloth handy. As soon as you rub it on it works instantly. Have the wet rag ready and wipe off immediately. If it leave some white gewy stuff just wax it off and it's like it never happen.
I know cause when I bought my car the owner parked under a sap tree. My hood had like 15 spots of tree sap that turn golden brown. I spent countless hours cleaning the windows which had sap and hood to fenders.
If your scared to use these stuff it does come off with countless amounts of washing the car if your problem is with the exterior. I never really try it but at work we use mr clean's magic sponge/ eraser. Works wonders!

what about Goof off?? Once again try that on a hidden spot first but that stuff cleans anything.
