OK so I tried to take the lower door molding off of my spyder. Holy friggin... I couldn't get it and practically ripped it off. Well its bent and I just bought a new one.

Still does anyone know how you take it off and put it on? I'm thinking it might slide off but I'm not sure.

Looks like its duck tape for now. :(

Here are pics of the place on the car, the one bent tab, and the part to include where it was bent:

I used a paint scraper and a rubber mallet. I went a little from one end to the other and then started over a little at a time. When it was off the clips I pulled it straight back. Mine didn't bend any more than it already was. What did you use?

*sigh* Brute force basically. I mean it just would NOT BUDGE. For the life of me I had no idea how it was attached.

The only way I ever got them off without bending them is to remove the inner door panel and pop them off with a "door panel pry tool" very gently from the INSIDE of the door. If that makes any sense.

I'd like to say yes but I'm not sure. Is there a link to the tool? I'd like to somehow get at least a thread on this going to help people out.

When removing mine, I took out the two phillips screws, slid it back a couple inches (not sure if that made a difference) then used a tool I made specifically for this type of trim. It's basically a putty knife that's been bent into a very tight J. Got it underneath the retainer clips to pop them loose, and the trim came out without issue.

Like I said before, if there is a link you can find to a tool that it looks like or that tool itself itd help all of us. Thanks!

Considering it's a tool I built myself, I'm probably not going to be able to find a link, and if I wasn't 1500km away from my shop I'd take a picture of it.

All I did though was just fold the end over on a putty knife kinda like this:
