HELP... how do you wire a 3" gm mass plug to the stock 2g wires...

I have a GM mass air flow and I need help on wiring the plug connector to my 99 gst? How would I use my old plug wires to re-wire it? The gm plug came with three white wires? thanks it would help me a lot.
 
Did you get the Maf Translator also? If not the GM MAF is useless and your ecu won't be able to read the signal.
 
ok how much of a difference to get this set up compair to the stock 2g?
 
The stock 2g MAF is good for I think 400+ hp so I would just leave it alone. Your money would be better spent elsewhere. Start off with the free mods and follow the upgrade path in the tech article section. Things like hard intake pipes, FMIC, or a 1g BOV swap would net more HP gains than a gm maf and translator.

apexi n1 catback w/ 3" downpipe
greddy profec b boost controller
ported exhaust manifold
Td05h big 16g
slowboy fmic kit w/1g bov
injen intake w/ k&n filter
guages

should i leave my maf stock with the injen then?



what i have on the side:

supra smic fliped
dejon 3" intake
upper intercoller pipe w/hks bov
and lower s dejon pipe
also a pwr intercooler and some piping
 
You should update your vehicle profile so we know what mods you have and don't assume your new to DSM's like I did. With that being said.... What are you using for tuning? Are you looking to tune with the Translator or just want a blow through setup? The stock MAF and the Dejon tool intake pipe should be good for your setup. Does the Injen pipe look anything like the Dejon tool setup?

yes it haves an oval look to it. it's made for the 2g turbo eclipse.

so should i keet it stock or go wi9th the gm mass set up?

for tuning... just a blow through set up...

what do you prefer?
 
I have an AFC and a gm maf/translator on mine but I tune mostly with the AFC. I had a 2g maf on mine before and didn't notice any gains from swapping to the gm unit. To me it wasn't worth the added money and tuning difficulties swapping to the gm maf. If I were to do it all over again I would've kept my 2g and just used the AFC but damn it I had to vent my bov. Don't get me wrong though, a lot of guys have tuned very well with the Gm Maf and translator but I just don't think I needed it.
 
ok than if the stock 2g would handle 400 hp. i'll leave it stock and sell the other one. thanks. all i want is 300 hp.
