after a drive sunday afternoon i parked my car and noticed a weird smell, looked around on the road and saw a line circling the dead end all the way up to my car so i looked underneath it and saw a big puddle of effin tranny fluid. I jacked the car up today to look under it and noticed a hole the size of my pinky on the bottom of the tranny. What should i do? find someone to weld it shut? or some quicksteel? something to patch that hole up? because it leaks all my gear oil out and i dont want to pay for a new tranny, the one i have is fine....

theirs a hole you can see that is still dripping gear oil, i think i must have hit something hard while driving it yesturday. Could the hole be patched up or is it gonna have to be replaced? It leaked all my tranny fluid so i gotta fix it some how to drive it

no i replaced a broken cv joint on my car on friday night, filled up on new gear oil, drove fine all day saturday and sunday till i came back last night and noticed all of it everywhere. i took it out for 40 or so minutes for a drive out in the country and didnt hit anything that i know of, unless something happened i didnt see. I know it wasnt leaking anything before my last drive of the day because i can see the line of fluid on my street leading up to me car.

well im his friend and we took a little better pictures for you guys
the first couple of pics are a better shot of where its leaking....now that we looked at it closer, it doesnt seem to be a hole but it seems to be leaking inside the bell housing.....once the car warms up and we start driving it gear oil starts to pour right out of the bell housing area, we thought it was a hole just b/c it was mainly coming from this particular area but it seems to be leaking all around it.....im just wondering if a seal has worn out thats why its leaking, if thats the case how should we fix it?

Is the tranny fluid low? Is the engine oil low? It could be either seal. Either way the transmission needs to come out and you'll pronanly have to replace the clutch to (maybe if oil is all over it)
