hey guys heres the deal. i tightend my throttle cable today becuase it wasnt at 100% wot so after school i got in my car truned on the car and noticed there was no vacume. so i started to drive home and did a pull on the way and noticed my boost gauge was sputtering and trying to get to 10 pounnds and i usaly run about 13-14 so i no i have a boost leak then went to gas station to fill up and notice my motor is sitting at 2000 rpm and im not tuching the gass pedal o bye the way broke one of the bolts that holds the little braket to adjust the throttle cable. so if someone could build me a boost leak tester i could be your new best friend LOL jk but i would throw some money your way i kind of no how to build one just dont have time or tools so ### help me...p.s sorry for bad spelling i try

joe

Well your cars idling high because you adjusted the cable to far, and since the throttle is holding open at idle you would have less vacuum. Less vacuum means less ability to control your wastegate which is actually set around 9psi

well i thought it was harder to make but i guess not i will try to make one wish me luck. thanks for all the help. p.s does a bike pump work or is it hard to keep pumping

it says in the link that the other guy posted that a bike pump will work. I think ive used one before too. Your boost leak tester will be one of your favorite tools.

A bike pump won't work if the leak is too big, you can pretty much guarantee that your stock bov is leaking if you're still running it. If you do use a bike pump make sure that you have a strong or energetic friend pump it for you while you listen and spray soapy water around your engine bay for leaks.

well at school we have air systems but they are at 150 psi should i just give it a little bit of air like a quick snap of air so i dont go over 20 psi and i took the stock bov off and it was very hard to push in the diaphram so idk its not stuck but pretty hard i herd some were easy and i want a 1g bov i was just about to buy one but then this happend. how much do you think it will caust me to make a boost leak tester. thanks for all the help guys
