I've read up on "boost leak and bad idles" threads and couldn't find anything that would help, the car will idle at 2.5k rpms for about a minute then it will fluctuate between 1000-2000 and sound like its about to stall when it hits the low point in the fluctuation, anyone have any knowledge or experience with this problem, is it just a simple boost leak that I can fix or no, it already has a new ecu. Its a 1991 GSX with 123K miles all stock.

the two videos show both idle and rpm jump., sorry for the crappy videos I didn't take them...

thanks.

Well have you checked for boost leaks? You should be doing a boost leak test every few months anyway regardless .

thats my first step when I get back, ( im in Afghanistan) I might be a little retarded for trying to do this from over the sea haha. the hoses are factory hose so that makes me think that the rubber has just had its life and its time for new ones, instead of doing oem I could just move to a small front mount then get a UICP, correct and my whole "intake" system would have all new pipes correct?

I would fix it as it is before adding new parts. Adding a whole new system will just invite more problems. Get it running right than upgrade.

Make sure all maintenance is done like timing belt , oil change, all fluids topped off, boost leak test and figure out your problem before throwing more money in parts. your car will end up giving you or someone else looking at your car a harder time.
