Help decoding VIN

Hi all, as many of you know, I need a tranny...... So, I found a wrecked eclipse () in Spain, and to be even more incredible, in my little town

Ok... so let's go with the hard part.... Talking to a spanish junkyard of 4g63 and 420A is a crazy thing so I asked them by
Engine of NEON or engine of EVO?
So.... they said me it's not the same engine that the neon has.... But I think that maybe spanish neons don't have 420A.

This car was sold by mitsubishi Europe, but previous owner said six months ago that it was pure american...
VIN is 4MBMND32AWE000029
It's tranny fits my 1996 GS with 420A? (my eclipse is from massachussets, not EURO)

Hope someone can help me...

Its easy telling which one is a N/A engine and a turbo engine if that is what you mean... Look for a turbo? and check out the exhuast manifold. If you also check out the injectors the Evo injectors and turbo car injectors are more than likely bigger than the N/A ones.

for vin number thing i think there is something on VFAQ under the misc section that helps decode vins.

In the vfaq I think information about VINs is only from 90 to 94.

It's 98 year GS-T Eclipse (fwd turbo) 4g63t

MMC España gave me the info of this car.

98 Eclipse GS with 4g63. Confirmed right now again on the phone.

IT'S 4g63T

D32 = GS-T

D31 = GS

Or then somebody has changed n/t engine to turbo car... which would be really dumbass thing to do..

Teme: I can asure you it is a GS. I have called Mitsubishi Motors Corp. Spain asking them exactly that. They said YES. IT IS A GS. NOT A GST.
Maybe, this car is SPECIAL. I don't know. Mitsubishi said it is a 4g63 GS.


PS: What tranny can I use on an eclipse if no other eclipse is here? I am ####ed up to the point I will have to take the funcking whole engine and tranny to make my eclipse run again?

In Europe the Eclipse GS came with a non turbo 4G63 like the one mitsubishi colt has.
